How to Remove Text from a Screenshot or Image
Text in a screenshot can be a caption, a UI label or a piece of a scanned document. These are different editing problems: an AI remover can rebuild pixels around unwanted text, but it cannot preserve the original underlying information when the text covers it.
Choose the right type of repair
A subtitle over a plain sky is often straightforward. A button label in an app interface may need the surrounding border and icon rebuilt. Text in a scanned contract or document can hide information you should preserve, so work from an authorized copy and keep the original intact.
Remove captions and burned-in text
Zoom in and brush the complete letter shapes, including shadows and outlines. Add only a small margin around the text. For a long caption over changing scenery, divide it into shorter sections at changes in colour or texture.
Clean UI labels carefully
Before removing a label from a product screenshot, check whether cropping or exporting a clean source is possible. If you use AI, compare straight lines, repeated icons and gradients after the repair; those design elements reveal errors quickly.
Set expectations for non-Latin scripts
Chinese, Japanese, Korean and other scripts can have dense strokes and fine anti-aliasing. A close selection and a high-resolution input help, but intricate backgrounds may still need a second pass. Do not use a generated repair to misrepresent a document or alter information you do not have the right to change.
